Stairs, uneven roads, crowded streets, and limited accessibility make movement difficult, isolating individuals from education, work, healthcare, and even family life. A wheelchair is far more than a piece of equipment — it is a key to independence.
Through ALCI’s wheelchair distribution programme, we aim to restore dignity and freedom to those who need it most. We work closely with local communities, hospitals, and grassroots partners to identify individuals who lack access to mobility support, including elderly patients, accident survivors, and children with physical disabilities. Each wheelchair is provided free of cost to families who would otherwise be unable to afford one.
The impact is immediate and visible. Recipients can travel to school, attend medical appointments, participate in community life, and regain a sense of normalcy. Parents of disabled children often describe the wheelchair as a turning point, reducing physical strain on caregivers while giving their child the chance to move with confidence.
